How to use your printable colouring files after purchase

A step-by-step walkthrough from Stripe checkout to opening the ZIP, choosing the correct format and beginning your first page.

Quick answer: download the ZIP from your confirmed-order page, extract it, then use the A4 PDF for A4 paper, the US Letter PDF for Letter paper, or an individual PNG for tablet colouring. Keep the original ZIP as your backup.

1. Complete checkout and download the ZIP

Choose Buy and download on the collection page. Stripe opens a secure checkout. Once payment is confirmed, Stripe returns you to the Rook & Rafter order-confirmation page, where the Download your ZIP button appears.

  1. Select Download your ZIP once and allow the download to finish.
  2. Keep the confirmation page open until you have located the file.
  3. Save the original ZIP somewhere dependable, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive or a backed-up computer folder.
Good to know: a ZIP is a container that keeps the PDFs and PNG pages together. Extract it before using the files inside.

2. Extract the ZIP on your device

iPhone or iPad

Open Apple’s Files app and go to Browse → Downloads, or to the location you selected when saving. Tap the ZIP once. Files creates a normal folder beside it; open that folder to see the PDFs and PNGs.

Windows 10 or 11

Open Downloads in File Explorer. Right-click the ZIP, select Extract All, choose a destination and select Extract. Work from the extracted folder, not the preview shown inside the ZIP.

Mac

Open Downloads in Finder and double-click the ZIP. macOS creates an extracted folder in the same location.

Android

Open Files by Google, select the ZIP and tap Extract. The extracted files are saved in the same folder as the archive.

3. Choose A4, US Letter or PNG

FileUse it whenWhat it contains
A4 PDFYour paper is A4 (210 × 297 mm)All 25 pages, ready to print
US Letter PDFYour paper is Letter (8.5 × 11 inches)All 25 pages, separately formatted
PNG folderYou want one page, tablet colouring or flexible printing25 individual 2550 × 3300 px images

The cleanest approach is to choose the PDF that matches the paper in your tray. See A4 versus US Letter for the full explanation.

4. Print your first page

  1. Open the matching PDF in a reliable PDF viewer.
  2. Choose one page or a page range; you do not need to print all 25 at once.
  3. Select the actual paper size in the print dialog.
  4. Use Actual size or 100% where available. If the preview shows clipping, use Fit.
  5. Choose high or best quality, then print one test page.

Pencils and crayons work on ordinary uncoated paper. For markers or wetter media, use compatible heavier stock and place scrap paper beneath the page. See our paper and printer settings guide.

5. Colour an individual PNG on iPad or tablet

Import a PNG into Procreate, Adobe Fresco or another drawing app. Keep the original line-art layer at the top, set it to Multiply if your app supports blend modes, and colour on new layers underneath. Duplicate the untouched document before beginning. Read the full iPad and tablet workflow.

Troubleshooting common download problems

The ZIP looks empty

Make sure the download completed. On Windows, select Extract All instead of working inside the compressed-folder preview. If the file size is zero, delete that incomplete copy and download again from the confirmation page.

I cannot find the download

On iPhone or iPad, check Files → Browse → Downloads. On Windows or Mac, check the browser’s download list and Downloads folder. On Android, check Files by Google → Downloads.

The download button is missing

Refresh the confirmation page once. If it remains unavailable, email support@rookandrafter.com with the checkout email and Stripe receipt.

May I print a page more than once?

Yes, for your own personal use. You may keep a backup and reprint pages for yourself. You may not share, resell, redistribute or upload the source files. Read the personal-use licence.
